Kids & Teens

Arguably the most important purpose of a library is to be a focal point for the spread of knowledge.  Kids are the biggest information sponges we know of.  We do whatever we can to provide the fodder for these young minds to absorb as much learning as possible.

What?

We love kids!

We provide learning avenues, they ride through them with big wheels.

Okay, enough of the metaphors.

Children of all ages are encouraged to use the library.  We try to make learning fun by providing computers to surf the net and play educational games, as well as interactive media, such as our talking globe.  We have a large selection of children’s and young adult books.

Wednesdays at 11:00 A.M. from September through June is our story time where entertaining adults read stories to the younger children.

In June, a Ready to Read summer reading program is planned. Children from kindergarten to sixth grade have a reading program with activities and rewards for reading.  Teens have a separate program and also earn prizes for reading. Ready to Read is a reading program offered through the State of Oregon.
